#ThrowbackThursday

A memory of last Summer.

A Jester, a Wizard and a Storyteller walked into a Castle..

They immediately fell into a discussion as to which of them might best please an audience. The Jester began thus;

“I use my jugglery and clownery to please my audience. By throwing my chattels into the heavens and capturing them once more on their decent do I thrill and cause much merriment in the hearts of my audience and thus am best fitted to please them!”

At this the Wizard laid down his strange and colourful talisman of Rubric (or something very like it) and with much solemnity began;

“I weave my subtle art to please my audience. By magic and illusion I create great spectacles of light and surprise. With these visions do I create wonder in the minds of my audience and thus am best fitted to please them!”

The Storyteller looked up from his mug and wiped his unkempt whiskers upon his sleeve and replied;

“Gentles both, I know my place! I am but a humble Storyteller and lack the skill and wisdom of my friend the Wizard, or the… patronage of my friend the Jester, but in my own small way both your offices meet in mine! You see I do jugglery with my stories and throw them into the heavens for others to catch, and I weave magic and illusion into my tales to create spectacles of the imagination. And my skill is one that grows, for an audience may wonder at your skills here within the castle yet mine they may take and recreate themselves time and again at home. Thus I am best fitted to please them”

Byddwch yn ofalus o anifeiliad Cymru, weithiau maent yn fwy hudol Byddwch yn ofalus o anifeiliaid Cymru, weithiau maent yn fwy hudol na’r Tylwyth Teg eu hunain. Dyna fu i Cadwaladr ddarganfod un diwrnod ar ôl cam-drin ei hoff afr, Jeni.

Morforwyn Conwy

Morforynion da neu drwg? Roedd yr un oedd gan Hans Christian Anderson yn dda ond mae’r gweddill yn fwy llwyd eu gwedd. Dwi ddim yn siwr os oedd Morforwyn Conwy yn haeddu eu ffawd, ond falle bod pobl y dre, y Jac y Dos am y ffordd ddaru nhw ei thrin hi.

Which of the three was correct in his assertion I cannot say, but come to #conwycastle this Friday and judge for yourselves.
